For more than twenty years, Jenni Christensen has applied herself to the art of etching. Her work consists predominantly of floral compositions with an oriental sensitivity to space, rhythm, and flow. This is a natural extension of her character when one considers her childhood among the floral diversity and intensity of Hawaii. It would appear that this early interaction with nature left an indelible impression and fascination.

Etchings
"Usually, I start by drawing and then roll with the punches. Printmaking is unique, it is a dialogue between the printmaker and the process."

Gourds
"After years of working on etchings, I find gourds interesting because of the three dimensionality - the challenge of drawing and painting around, rather than flat."

Oil Paintings
"I’ve never had formal training as a painter, but being “one” has been and is a life long dream and has taken half of my life to begin. I’ve been painting panels for 2 years now and have a long way to go, but I’ve made a beginning."

About Jenni
"I have always loved flowers and the garden, the variation is endless. I used to go out late at night and steal flowers to draw but I lost my nerve. Now I grow my own."
